Performance

The Subaru Outback comes with two main powertrains. On the base model is a 182-horsepower 2.5-liter flat-4 engine that unleashes 176 pound-feet of torque. Meanwhile, the optional 2.4-liter turbo BOXER® releases 260 horsepower and a torque value of 277 pound-feet of torque.

As mentioned, the Outback is known for its standard all-wheel drive. The 2023 Subaru Outback maintains the configuration but enhances it in trims like the Onyx Edition with X-MODE®. The X-MODE® system provides the Subaru Outback with more capability and control over tough and slippery terrains around Kitsap Peninsula. Additionally, the new Outback Wilderness has a low-range setting that makes it easy to move over tricky off-road circumstances.

Design

The new Outback receives an exterior revamping to create a rugged exterior with a new headlight design and trim-specific decals. It also has plastic cladding to make it look more like a typical SUV than a station wagon. The interior is practical, spacious and contains excellent technology. The cabin legroom for rear seating passengers is about 39 inches, while the cargo space is 32 cubic feet, doubles when the back seats fold.

Safety Features

Standard driver-assistance features on the new Subaru Outback include lane-keeping assist, automatic emergency braking, automatic high beams and lane centering. Adaptive cruise control, forward collision warning and parking sensors are also available for Silverdale drivers. Optional safety features include surround-view monitoring, hill descend control and driver focus.

Trim Levels

The base model offers raised rails with tie-down points and integrated cross bars. It also features LED fog lights and LED steering responsive headlights. Additionally, it features a Subaru STARLINK® multimedia and an impressive 8.7 inches of ground clearance. The Premium is the second model of the Outback out of nine trim levels. It features an all-weather package, dual-zone automatic climate control and upgraded safety features. Furthermore, it comes with an upgraded and highly responsive 11.6-inch touchscreen to keep you entertained on your commutes to Bainbridge Island.
